Traumatic Event Response Plan

To assist with a Traumatic Event Response, each school will have a designated Keystone AEA Core Team contact person who will assist the school or building to implement the district's Traumatic Event Response Plan. A traumatic event (or critical incident in some literature) may be an accident, suicide, serious injury, epidemic, threat of harm, or natural disaster which, due to the emotional impact, significantly hinders people's ability to cope.

Traumatic Event Response Plan

The plan provides school districts with a basic set of materials with which to respond to any traumatic occurrence which has an obvious effect on the total school community. While the Traumatic Event Response Plan may serve as a guide for a district should such an event happen, it is hoped each district will supplement this document with a specific plan of its own to address special and individual needs.
