Mentoring and Induction:  Journey to Excellence

The Keystone AEA Mentor Training Framework was designed, not as a stand-alone program, but rather as a supplement to the LEA's comprehensive training activities. Guided by the Statewide Journey to Excellence Mentor Training Program focusing on the Iowa Teaching Standards, the Keystone AEA Framework engages trainees in the concepts of quality teaching and professional practice. The program's vision and activities are guided by the belief that any induction program should assist the beginning teacher with more than just survival skills, it should give them strategies and tools to raise their instructional practices to a higher level.
