State-wide Generalist Certification (Level 1) is being revised. 
For the 2014-15 school year, paras wanting to get their Generalist Certification must complete all components by DECEMBER 1, 2014.  Registration will open in August.


Keystone AEA realizes the importance of para support in enhancing the educational achievements of children. Keystone assists over 900 paras in their work by providing:

  • Individual check-out ID numbers to enable paras to directly access materials from the Keystone AEA Media Center
  • Resource materials in the Keystone AEA Instructional Media lab.
  • Needs assessment to determine para needs each summer.
  • Inservices on topics important to paraeducators within local school districts and through Keystone AEA.
  • Help to schools in meeting the state requirements related to paraeducators.
  • Paraeducator Certification program based on state criteria (Generalist, Area of Concentration, and Recertification).
