A Beginner's Guide to Effective E-mail

This guide created by Kaitlin Duck Sherwood aids beginners in the use of e-mail. It includes information on communication skills needed to effectively utilize this relatively new medium.
 

ePALS Webmail

ePALS offers free e-mail for students, parents, teachers and administrators. Select from either unmonitored or monitored accounts. Teachers can set up monitored e-mail accounts for individual students with filtering for profanity. The teacher is the monitor, and can set varying levels of filtering for whole classes or individual students.
 

Gaggle.Net

GaggleNet provides free, filtered, teacher-controlled e-mail accounts for students.  Gaggle Allows you to:
  • Block SPAM
  • Automatically monitor messages
  • Block pornographic e-mail
  • Review student messages
  • Block curse words
  • Block e-mail with outsiders

E-MATH

This page is a guide to e-mail based volunteer programs designed to help students master challenging math, science and technology.

Electronic Emissary Home Page

The Emissary is a "matching service" that helps teachers with access to the Internet locate other Internet account-holders who are experts in different disciplines, for purposes of setting up facilitated curriculum-based, electronic exchanges among the teachers, their students, and the experts.
 

NASA Quest

NASA Quest's Question and Answer service provides students in K-12 grades with the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers that relate to NASA science, math and technology content.
